Checking my e-mail box this morning after the long holiday weekend I found, hidden amongst hundreds of others (can anyone say “unsubscribe”?), one particular message that sent my heart to pitter-pattering: The Left Coast Crime 2012 Award Ballot. I’ve already signed up for the conference, this year to be held March 29-April 1, 2012 in Sacramento, California. In addition to the wonderful authors attending, the LCC Committee has come up with some fabulous activities, including a mystery river boat cruise! Read all about the conference HERE.
Now, back to the ballot. There are four categories this year:
THE LEFTY (best humorous novel)
THE BRUCE ALEXANDER HISTORICAL MYSTERY (best historical mystery pre-1960)
THE GOLDEN NUGGET (best mystery set in California), and
THE EUREKA! (best first mystery novel)
To be eligible to nominate, you have to: a) be signed up for LCC 2012 and b) return the ballot by January 27, 2012. Looking over the ballot made me think back to some of the fabulous books of 2011 (see my previous post Best of 2011) and consider how I’m going to fill out my own ballot. Here is my “suggested reading” list for Left Coast Crime 2012.
